Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Bystep (bystep.dev), the Bystep CLI and MCP server, operated from Indonesia. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them.
1. The service
Bystep generates product requirement documents, feature breakdowns and task lists from your input, and provides tooling to hand those tasks to an AI coding agent. Output is produced by AI and may be incomplete or wrong; you are responsible for reviewing it before relying on it.
2. Your account
You need a Google account to sign in. Keep your API tokens secret; anything done with your token is treated as done by you. You must be at least 18 years old or have the consent of a legal guardian.
3. Acceptable use
Do not use Bystep to build or plan anything illegal, to infringe others' rights, to attack or overload the service, to scrape or resell it, or to circumvent quotas. We may suspend accounts that break these rules.
4. Plans, payment and refunds
Free and paid plans and their quotas are described on the pricing page. Paid plans are prepaid for their period and do not renew automatically unless stated at checkout. You can cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period. Because generation costs are incurred immediately, payments are non-refundable except where required by law or when the service was unavailable for a material part of the period.
5. Your content
You own what you put into Bystep and what it generates for you. You grant us a licence to store and process it only to provide the service. We do not claim any rights to your codebase.
6. Our software
The Bystep web app, CLI and MCP server are our property. The CLI and MCP packages are published on npm under their respective licences for use with the service.
7. Availability and liability
The service is provided as is. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee it. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
8. Termination
You can stop using Bystep and delete your account at any time. We may terminate or suspend access for breach of these terms, with notice where practical.
9. Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. We may update them; material changes are announced before they take effect, and continued use means acceptance.
